Drawing on decades of professional experience and years of acting training, this class is designed to help each student to grow individually while working with several different scene partners. Largely drawing on the influence of Julie’s most significant mentor, the late Roy London, her approach will help to simplify and deepen each student’s ability to handle any kind of scripted material.
Actors who are open to courageously bringing their unique point of view to their own work will find this class both challenging and exciting. Students will be assigned scenes from plays or screenplays and a partner that will change after the scene has been performed twice in class, first without stopping and receiving notes and discussing the work with Julie, second with stops to work on the most vital lessons within the scene.
Students will have access to Julie to discuss their goals and scenes and partners will be chosen with careful consideration for each actor’s needs. The teacher’s goal is to create an honest, supportive, and safe environment where extraordinary performance is possible.
