iProv is half rock and roll, half alternative country, half speed metal and 100% improvisation.
Using audience song suggestions and iTunes, iProv takes a weekly journey to the surprising locations and time periods tied to each piece of music.
Last year the trio was cast in the NBC pilot COMEDY COLOSSEUM and have collectively been improvising at bang comedy theater for over 25 years. LA WEEKLY calls Ezra Weisz a “Master of Improv.” Gretchen calls Mitchell Roche a “brilliant comedian” and Mitchell calls Gretchen Enders “the girl.”
Gretchen Enders is a native Coloradoan who discovered and fell in love with improvisation shortly after arriving in Los Angeles at the turn of the century. She is a product of bang comedy theatre where she has performed with house groups Slice!, R.P.S. (Religion Politics Sex), Big Hollywood Big Time Big Shots and can currently be seen in iProv. When not performing live on stage she is thinking about the next time she gets to perform live on stage.
Mitchell Roche was born and raised in Hollywood and Burbank, California, respectively, and became involved in acting and theater arts at an early age. In college, at California State University, Northridge, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in visual art, and produced his first short film, The E! True Hollywood Story of Mighty Mouse. Professionally, Mitchell has worked under the direction of Richard Donner and Anthony Perkins, and co-starred with Arnold Schwarzenegger in a commercial for Brazilian TV. He is most proud, however, of his role in the HBO movie, Lansky, which put him only two degrees from Kevin Bacon. At bang, he has appeared in The Doubtful Guests, Peter’s Always Correct, and ‘Trent Whitestone: Embrace the Unimaginable. In his free time, Mitchell enjoys improvising, absorbing pop culture, and referring to himself in the third person.
Ezra Weisz has been in demand as an actor, director, and comedian since arriving in Los Angeles from his native New Jersey in 1994. Almost immediately he landed roles in the west coast premiere of Chess, as well as in Urban Folktales, and had an acclaimed performance at that years Ovation Awards following his critical success in The Cradle Will Rock. In that same year he traveled to Scotland for the International Fringe Festival. Currently, Ezra is a much sought after teacher of improvisation and has performed at such venerable locations as The Icehouse, Company of Angels, The Comedy Store, and bang comedy theatre. These days he can be found warming up the studio audiences of such shows as Disney’s The Wizards of Waverly Place, and Fear Factor. But it’s Ezra’s directing talents that have him most in demand. He helmed the ADR and walla of the cult animation hit Blondes. His animation credits also include Ultramaniac, Snow Fairy Sugar, and Bobobo. He was responsible for both voice-casting and directing for the live-action features Curse of the Golden Flower, and House of Flying Daggers, as well as the English dub of Letters from Iwa Jima.
